Splash Pad

What a great day to head over to the splash pad and cool off. Sean has said that he did not want to go in this summer so we went to the splash pad once at the beginning of the summer. Today he loved it, running and jumping around to his hearts content. He even spent some time playing on the playground and in the sand.
Claire was as happy as can be walking around but did not want to go into the water much. She gravitated towards the dirt and wanted to walk in the grass. So I spent most of the time chasing after her.

Chilling at the Park

So another attempt at a picture...OHHH WELL! Maybe next time!

Claire is 10 Months

Well Claire is actually 10 months and 7 days old but I am getting around to this late (as usual) so here are some pictures of her from last week.
The other day Sean said, "Mom, where is Claire?" We were looking all over the house for her and there she was in the other room playing. If the door is open she will walk right out of the house. When she is outside she walks right to the street or tries to pick up a leaf and put it in her mouth. She is fascinated with the curb for some reason??
Claire at 10 months:
-is walking everywhere.
-will go to a stand from the ground without holding on to things
-doesn't like to walk in her shoes much (trips over them sometimes)
-loves to take walks
-is now in the rear facing car seat (she was just too heavy to carry)
-eats everything in site (eats more than Sean)
-is totally a schedule girl when it comes to naps
-is going to bed earlier (around 7) - if Sean would only do that
-loves to pull all the books off the bookshelf
-likes to walk around with stuff in her mouth and tries to bite it (very unsafe)
-can crawl up our entire flight of stairs & if the gate is open - watch out - she is gone
-turns red or grunts when she is frustrated
-when she wakes up she is standing with a smile in her crib
-turns over in a flash when changing her diaper
-likes to drink from her sippy cup
-will play with things by herself (if Sean would leave her alone)
-gained some weight this month from eating so much
-says mama, dada
-like to say thank you and dog(resemblance of the words)
-gravitates towards the street when she is walking outside & likes to eat the rocks
-likes to clap her hands when she hears the song "This old man.."
-bounces up and down when music is on
-is not afraid to go head first off the bed or try to wiggle away when she is in the pool
-loves to sleep in her crib (will not fall asleep on you if she is tired)
-puts everything in her mouth
-has 2 bottom teeth and 4 on the top (yes they all came in recently)
-had another ear infection (this is #4) so was a bit fussy
-likes to get tickles and roll around on the ground
-can pucker her lips to make a sound when you tell her to give kisses
-loves to play with balls, carry them around, roll them (with help) Sean
-not much for the bath so we do them quickly
-if she wants something and can't get it she will make it know by babbling or screaming
-if you take something from her she turns red and starts to get upset
-opens some of the cabinets without locks to see what is in them
-very curious and loves to get into things
-likes to stand and look into the open frige (probably checking out her next meal)
-needs a barrette to hold her hair out of her face or she will be eating her hair
-had reddish/auburn hair (it is turning lighter and lighter)

Baseball

Sean loves to play baseball so now that the weather is getting nicer we decided to start taking walks down to the park in our neighborhood and Sean gets to practice his baseball swing. He hit a couple really nice one that he likes to call "pool shots". Which means they are going so far they will go into the pool in the backyard. We have been taking walks at night in the wagon and the kids love it. I can not believe how good they are. Sean asks to go for a walk in the wagon every night.

My Little Ones

I can't believe Claire is coming out of the baby stage in the next couple months and Sean looks like he is 4. Sometimes he is bigger than the 4 year old boys he plays with. I was trying to get a picture of the kids but Claire is walking one way and Sean was not looking at the camera so this is all I could get. Sean loves his little sister in fact a little too much and he starts to lay on her when he is giving her the big hugs and she is not liking it. He loves to help his sister when she is out and about and around other people but at home he is craving the attention and like to push her over or take her toys. Gotta love siblings!

Sean and Addi

We went to Bounce Jungle and in the waiting area were these two little chairs. So the kids decided to relax and hang out and this photo was priceless. Sean and Addi have been friends since they were babies so it is funny to see them all grown up and still hanging out.
This is what my friend Maura posted on her blog about the kids and I thought it summed it up.

I have to post about Sean because his name brings the biggest smile to my daughter's face and his name is probably mentioned in our house at least once a day and sometimes many, many more. Addison is only 3 years old and already madly in love. I remember having a boyfriend at age 3 too and we had goats and I named them all Corey (that was his name) so I understand her "crush" but I can't help but laugh at it still.

JumpStreet

This was such a great time and Sean was totally wiped out after we left. We went to Jump Street where they have these huge trampolines for the kids to jump on. I let Sean watch an online video of these guys jumping and he wanted to do all their moves.
Sean is all the way in the back in the center of the photo.

Cleaning the Pool

Sean wanted to show everyone how helpful he is when Dad is cleaning the pool so he took charge and made the pool look sparkling clean.

I Love to Eat!

A couple weeks ago Claire said good-bye to baby food and now will only eat what you are eating. If she wants more she starts to grunt and her face turns red. So she eats pizza, pasta, hamburger, broccoli, carrots, cottage cheese, yogurt, sausage, eggs, and WATERMELON to name a few.
Claire is now eating more than Sean so she is really starting to fill out and we are moving on to the next size in clothes.

Batman & Superhero Fun

Luke came over for a fun playdate and the boys could not resist dressing up as Superheroes and running around the house.

Bouncing Fun

Claire loved to Bounce up and down and laughed the entire time she was on the inflatables.

Sean met a little friend and was busy bouncing and playing air hockey the entire time. He was so active he was bright red. I am not sure who the little boy was but the kids hit it off and played for hours.
