Fire Station Tour

We were invited to the fire station at the corner of our street for a tour during Alec's 4th Birthday Party. The kids were able to see the inside of the fire station and the fire truck. Sean loved to run around the fire truck. Hey wait, why are you running away from the cute fireman Sean?
Look how big our little guy is. Everyone thinks he is already 2 years old. Little do they know he is only 17 months. Sean checked out the front of the fire truck. We loved the American flag that was on the front.
Here is Sean with the man of the hour, Alec. He turned 4 today. Sean and him were chillin' on the front of the fire truck.
Another picture with the cutie fireman. He lifted Sean up in the truck and watch him so he did not fall. He was great with the kids and Sean loved the inside of the fire truck. Jen's mom could not resist the fireman so we had to make sure she got a picture with him. Can you tell all the girls were having a great time on the fire station tour!

Park and Play

On Monday we met Adrienne and Danica at the park to play on the play set and go on the swings. Sean and Dani went in the wagon down to the park and talked to each other on the way. They ate some snacks and hung out for a little while. I wanted to take more pictures but it was very hard to keep track of Sean when he was being a little risky on the playground, running after the dogs, and acting silly. We decided to play at Danica's house but had to leave when Sean was soaked because the little ones were splashing in the dog bowl. What fun!

Is that a LEMON?

Since the weather has been absolutely perfect lately we have been spending loads of time outside. Sean is getting really excited when we go in the backyard and blow bubbles. Then he plays with the hose cart, the grill, and points to our pool. Lately he has been wanting to go over and pick some lemons off of our fruit tree. We have a couple lemons that decided to grow like mad (must be the fertilizer we accidentally put on the tree within the last year). So now we have these enormous lemons that hang on the bottom of the tree. Sean wanted to throw them around the backyard. You can see why he would mistake them for a ball.

Now a Fire Engine?

Sean practiced using the pedals to move his new fire truck. He was able to back it right into the wall and chip some of the paint. We need to take him outside and show him how to drive down the sidewalk. Sean loves to sit in the back of the fire engine so it tips up into the air. The ladder and the hose had to be removed for right now until he gets the hang of it. Grandma and Grandpa keep bringing over these surprise gifts. At least Grandpa is putting them together for us. Where are we going to store all this stuff? Sean loves to turn the steering wheel although we are still working on getting him to turn it the right way so engine moves without hitting things.

Sean Gets What He Wants

I guess you can say that Sean was not finished with his meal. He really wanted to see what was left on his tray. So he grabbed his little toy.....jumped right on up and inspected the goods that were left on the tray. The food must have looked enticing because Sean decided to dig in and have a little more of his food.

Going to See the Ducks

Here is Sean hanging out in the car on the way to the zoo. Well we got there at 3:55 pm and the zoo closed at 4:00pm. How convenient! We are never on time for any event anyway so no big surprise there. We ventured over to Papago Park next to the zoo and hung out with the ducks and the geese near the lake. Well at least that was our plan!
The geese wanted to eat Sean's Cheerios that dad was feeding them. They started to run after dad and he got scared the dirty ducks were going to get him. SOOO he threw the bag of Cheerios on the ground. Then the geese decided to start coming over towards Sean and nipping at him.
We had to walk away leaving the geese and ducks hungry and ready to attack in the distance. Who would have thought an afternoon at the pond would have been so eventful?! Dad kept saying how dirty the ducks were and yelling at them to get away! OK there Mr. Clean.
After the winged creatures went on their merry way Sean kept wondering where they were and was holding up his hands because his little pecking friends were gone.

2009 is here!

Sean was happy to see 2009. He went to the park today and swung into the new year. He was able to relax as we took a bunch of pictures.
Happy New Year!

Little People Playtime

The new Little People barnyard area at the zoo is just like the barn Sean got for Christmas. We spent a little time playing with some of our friends after exploring the snow. The three little guys would not get together for a photo but little Jake is hanging out in this picture in the background.
Sean kept saying "up" and wanting to go on this big tractor.
More little people to play with. Dad was so proud of Sean because he grabbed another kid by the shirt and threw him to the ground so he could play in one of the kiddie tractors.

Zoo-rrefic

Brusing the goat is always a treat. When we told Sean to brush the goats he understood exactly what we were saying since we are always telling him to brush his hair. Then he related "brushing" to his hair and wanted to use the goat's brush on his own hair.
Yippee! The zoo is a blast when I run around like crazy!
I loved to look at the tiger (not sure if you can see him in the background). When I see him or the lion I like to ROAR! We are always asking Sean what the lion and the tiger says and then he loves to ROAR!
Up close looking at the giraffes!

Let It Snow

The zoo had a snow day on New Year's Eve so we went to show Sean his first sight of snow. At first Sean was ok with touching the cold snow.
But then he did not like the feeling of the snow and wanted to shake the snow off his hands. He did not last too long in the snow (only about 5 minutes). Enough time for a great photo opt.

Loving the Youth Museum

The had a tricycle and bike area where the kids could ride through a mock car wash. Sean loved the bikes since now he is always wanted to ride his bike he got for Christmas.
Making music is always a blast when you can clang on loud wrenches and other noisy things.
More riding!
Sean is getting practice for washing the dishes when he get bigger.
The mock grocery store was a great time for the little ones. They were able to walk around with the carts, go into the meat cooler, pick items off the shelf, and check out at the cash registers. Sean spent a great deal of time playing in this neat area.
